Its "Janice eats for free!" day at the newly open Mix & Match Western Buffet restaurant on 4th and 5th January. I decided to give it a try after reading good reviews on their Facebook page. The buffet is priced at a reasonable RM55 nett per pax.  

I can see that they put quite a lot of effort in decorating the restaurant nicely! I love those little deco displayed on the table top and on the wall. Tables and chairs are neatly arranged and not too narrow to walk around.

This was the third time I've travelled to Bangkok, the Land of Tom Yum Goong. I always love eating Som Tum and Tom Yum. I found a new love in this beautiful land during the recent trip. Karmakamet Diner is such a beautiful place which serves high quality of western food in a very relaxing ambience and classy, yet friendly environment.

Breakfast idea: Sunny side up egg over herb baguette with saute mushrooms

A simple western breakfast idea to share. Cooked this a couple of weeks ago on a lazy Sunday morning. Mum gave me the Happy Call pan and it is so good to use!

I buttered the bread and heat it for a while to have some crunch on it.

Next, I saute the brown button mushrooms with onions with a tablespoon of olive oil. Add a pinch of salt and black pepper to taste.

I fried the egg last with the Happy Call pan on low to medium heat.

Then, serve with slices of tomatoes.

This is the first time I'm sharing my eating out post in my blog. Visited Double Park Cafe & Bar in SS2 during weekend for dinner. I remember this cafe was previously the UFO Desserts and if I'm not mistaken, this cafe is quite new.

It is a suitable place for catching up with friends or just to chill on a weekend night with friends. There's live band in this cafe too. Definitely a strong competitor for Wings Music Cafe located on the same street.

So, we ordered this Curry Pork Chop Rice (RM13.90) listed in the Signature Rice section in the menu. Tasted OK and acceptable.

I ordered this Pork Chop (RM17.90) with mushroom sauce. Again, nothing special. It's rather bland and I need to eat with chilli sauce. Guess I can cook better than this.

Also ordered this Grass Jelly Shaved Ice with sweet potato, taro ball, yogurt ball and red beans (RM7.50). The shaved ice actually tasted weird. Some sort of chemical-like taste. Not sure why it tasted like that. The yogurt ball was good though.

I also ordered a glass of Honey Lemon Ice (RM5.90). Taste good but a little bit too sweet for me. 

Overall, it was an average dinner on a Saturday night with bf. I think it is a suitable place for hanging out with friends because Double Park Cafe & Bar serves quite a wide variety of drinks, snacks and sandwiches.

I watched some pancakes video recipe and found a simple version of American Style pancakes recipe from Jamie Oliver's Food Tube. It is super simple.
